About the Position

License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS required. Must-Have: Epic charting experience required. First-time travelers not accepted unless the candidate has two years of experience at a Level I academic medical center. 100% nicotine-free facility. Description: This position requires flexibility as RNs must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs. The unit provides care to trauma patients with a focus on their acute and chronic needs. Patients are typically hemodynamically and medically stable. The environment is fast-paced. Ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night; however, night ratios can occasionally be 1:7. Travelers will float within the scope to meet facility needs, which may include different units. Weekend shifts may be required, with a minimum of four shifts over an eight-week period. Travelers must work two of three major holidays. Documentation and charting will be done using Epic systems. Care teams include care techs, and other interdisciplinary support staff. Various procedures and patient management skills are required, including managing cardiac drips, telemetry monitoring, and wound care. The facility has a strong emphasis on patient safety and quality of care. The nurses will also be expected to contribute to a supportive team environment and adhere to facility policies and protocols.
