Payroll Specialist

Long Description:

The Payroll Specialist will handle all payroll-related tasks, including collecting and reviewing employee data, calculating wages and deductions, processing payments, and maintaining accurate payroll records. This role also involves supervising and training remote HR/payroll team members to ensure all payrolls are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with federal and state labor laws.

The ideal candidate has extensive payroll experience, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll and review payroll statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations.
• Supervise data entry into HRIS/payroll systems.
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Develop and improve payroll procedures for greater efficiency.
• Train and support HR/payroll employees and audit their work regularly.
• Collaborate with management and HR to ensure payroll accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of recent payroll experience, including managing automated time and attendance systems.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes, federal/state labor laws, and tax compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) with excellent data entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
