Position Summary The Project Manager for In‑Service Bridge Inspection will manage bridge inspection projects for state and local agencies to ensure compliance with the National Bridge Inventory System, and work with public and private clients on non‑NBI structures such as culverts and pedestrian bridges. You will lead in‑service inspection efforts across the Pacific Northwest, including port and marine structures, water and wastewater facilities, dams, and irrigation infrastructure. You can also manage bridge and structural design or construction engineering management projects if that aligns with your experience and career goals. Job Responsibilities and Duties Technical Expertise : Demonstrate clear understanding of project‑related technical terms and fundamentals, coordinate resolution of technical issues, review and interpret technical drawings and documents, and prepare technical documents as necessary. Teamwork, Communication, and Leadership : Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills in both leadership and supporting roles, interact with clients, teaming partners, and contractors, and mentor others. Project Schedule and Delivery : Plan and develop a project schedule that balances client needs and internal capacity, oversee on‑time submittal of technical work products, schedule internal and external project meetings, and coordinate with resource managers. Scope and Budget Management : Prepare scope of work and fee breakdowns, monitor project financials, burn rate, and earned value, identify project changes, and adjust contracts or conduct change management activities as needed. Business Development, Marketing, and Industry Standards : Participate in business development and marketing efforts, identify leads, position the firm to win projects, and pursue new work. Client Interaction : Communicate frequently with clients, teaming partners, and subconsultants, serving as a company ambassador to foster client satisfaction. Other : Perform other duties as assigned. Travel and Presence : Visit job sites, meet with clients and contractors off‑site, attend stakeholder meetings and industry events, and travel to municipal offices or partner organizations for permitting and coordination. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree required. 6 years of experience; no prior project management experience required. 5 years of experience with an advanced degree; no prior project management experience required. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations PE (depending on discipline). Certified Bridge Inspection Team Lead according to CFR 650.309. Driving Requirements Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Physical Demands Employees are regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, and use hands. Occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
