Tax Executive

Responsibilities

The Tax Executive will oversee the accurate and timely preparation of all clients’ tax returns, making decisions on complex tax situations.

Key Duties

• Review and approve tax returns of varying complexity.
• Manage larger tax returns and delegate tasks to preparers as needed.
• Demonstrate expertise in advising clients on tax matters.
• Ensure client service tasks are completed within budgeted time.
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning efforts.
• Act as a resource for tax specialists and staff on tax issues.
• Prepare complex business tax returns.
• Manage client relationships and communicate important tax developments.
• Represent clients in governmental tax examinations.
• Keep tax preparation processes accurate and timely.
• Contribute to firm practice development through community involvement.

Supervisory Duties:

• Develop and train Supervising Seniors, Seniors, Semi-seniors, and Staff accountants.
• Participate in reviews and evaluations of the Tax Department.
• Identify training needs and qualifications of tax staff.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ experience in public accounting with increasing tax complexity.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in tax preparation.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferably with a master’s in taxation.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
