Vice President of Human Resources and Training

Job Details Location: 10026 W. San Juan Way, Littleton, CO 80127 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $155,000.00 / year Travel: Up to 25% Job Shift: Day Job Category: Human Resources General Purpose The VP of Human Resources performs a critical leadership role for Colorado Credit Union; contributing to sound Human Resources practices across the company, providing an employee‑oriented, high‑performance culture and employee development. This position serves as a key business partner to the President/CEO and Senior Management Team, ensuring the effective delivery of human resources services, regulatory compliance, and employee development programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Human Resources Lives CCU’s service standards and core values: Be the Advocate. Embrace Curiosity. Be Compassionate. Lead and administer all human resources programs including employee recruitment, onboarding, HR compliance, records management, payroll, employee benefits, compensation, Worker's Compensation, unemployment compensation, and safety. Manage and assist in responding to employee relation issues, concerns, and promote positive employee relations throughout all branches. Oversee workforce planning, recruitment, and retention strategies. Lead the annual employee insurance renewal “Open Enrollment” process with outsourced brokers and vendors. Handle internal/external audits, due diligence, and preparation of confidential correspondence. Manage semi‑monthly payroll process, audit timesheets, complete payroll journal entries, track hours, vacation, accruals, and other leave responsibilities. Manage employee deductions, COBRA elections, and reconcile group insurance invoices. Maintain all HR and payroll records systems. Design and manage the Performance Management System. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws. Oversee creation and maintenance of confidential corporate files. Review and edit the employee handbook and other communications for accuracy and legal compliance. Process HR paperwork for new hires, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, and benefits enrollment changes. Coordinate sponsored employee services and activities to enhance relationships. Recommend new programs or changes to existing programs. Consult with legal counsel on personnel matters. Supervise the HR department staff. Provide strategic initiatives for the HR department. Translate company growth strategies into actionable programs. Perform other duties as assigned and assist with special projects. Adhere to all service standards outlined in policies and procedures. Training Development Direct the design, planning, and implementation of corporate training programs, policies, and procedures. Approve new training techniques and suggest enhancements. Oversee relationships with vendors to ensure participation in external training programs. Assess developmental needs and implement talent‑building initiatives. Direct curriculum planning, budget allocation, and resource distribution. Work with managers to identify performance gaps and design interventions. Qualifications Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work with multiple managers and prioritize projects. Strong internal and external customer service orientation. Strong management and leadership skills. Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and internet navigation. Education, Experience, and Formal Training Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required. Master’s Degree is preferred. Certification from SHRM or HRCI is required. Ten years of related and progressive work experience in Human Resources, including at least five years of supervisory experience. Experience managing large administrative projects and reporting to multiple managers.
