Pediatric Aba Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

The Pediatric Aba Behavior Analyst works with the Director of Pediatric Aba Services and a team of behavior technicians to provide a range of applied behavior analytic (ABA) assessment and clinical services for children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum disorders and related developmental disabilities. The Pediatric Aba Behavior Analyst consults, provides training to caregivers, conducts behavioral evaluations of clients, and designs behavior and individual service plans for clients. The Pediatric Aba Behavior Analyst is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, communicating, and continually evaluating the effectiveness of functional assessments, behavioral evaluations, behavior plans, and individual service plans for clients on their caseload. This position also works closely with families, provides parent trainings, and may participate in community outings with the client and caregivers. As a supervisor, the Pediatric Aba Behavior Analyst is a clinical teacher who educates, observes, assesses, and supervises the educational activities and service delivery of the behavior technicians. The Pediatric Aba Behavior Analyst is required to adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Guidelines for Responsible Conduct for Behavior Analysts. The Pediatric Aba Behavior Analyst maintains a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed by the Director of Pediatric Aba Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Administers, conducts, evaluates, and supervises the implementation of behavioral assessment measures (e.g., VB-MAPP, Vineland) and functional assessment measures
• Provides 1:1 behavior intervention services in the clinic for children with autism spectrum disorder and their families
• Develops individualized goals and objectives for center-based programs and designs behavior support plans based on functional assessment data
• Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives
• Teaches behavior technicians on the proper implementation of educational and clinical behavior programs and plans, data collection systems and all necessary monitoring and reporting systems
• Conducts regular caregiver and/or teacher training and consultation
• Is responsible for ongoing individual program oversight and conducting weekly supervision meetings with behavior technicians
• Meets regularly with Director of Pediatric Aba Services and notifies her/him immediately of issues impacting client's progress and satisfaction
• Completes all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner as requested by the Director of Pediatric Aba Services
• Maintains billable caseload and documents billable hours according to VIA policy and state and federal regulation
• Develops written reports documenting behavioral recommendations for parents, caregivers and agency personnel in a timely and accurate manner

Position Type

This is a full-time position. This position involves working with clients who exhibit challenging and/or aggressive behavior.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Master's in behavior analysis, BCBA Supervisory, Psychology, special education, social work, speech language pathology, or related field required
• BCBA certification and/or licensed professional
• At least three years' experience serving individuals with ASDs with a full range of skills and abilities
• At least three years' experience working as an outreach consultant/in-home therapist in the autism or developmental disability field
• Strong knowledge and deep understanding of behavior analytic therapies; experience delivering these services
• Experience with staff training and supervision
• Must be proficient with DTT, ABA Program/Goal Development, ABA Behavior Reduction and Skills Acquisition Procedures, and Staff Training
• Must have excellent writing and communication skills, be highly organized with the ability to multi-task
• Must be able to work well as part of a team

Physical Requirements

The ability to move independently throughout a wide range of environments, some of which may not be accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, is required. Independent transportation to locations that may not be served by public transportation may be necessary.
