Accounting Specialist

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an Accounting Specialist to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $24.00 to $25.00 per hour. Job Responsibilities Process vendor invoices from receipt through payment while ensuring accuracy, proper coding and required approvals. Maintain vendor records, reconcile statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepare and issue payments including checks and electronic transfers while managing payment schedules. Support month end close by preparing accruals, journal entries and related account reconciliations. Maintain accounting documentation and ensure compliance with policies including tax reporting and audit requirements. Requirements Bring experience in accounts payable or general accounting functions with focus on invoice processing. Demonstrate understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements related to vendor payments. Use Excel and accounting systems effectively to track data, maintain schedules and support reporting. Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial transactions. Communicate clearly and manage multiple priorities in a structured and deadline‑driven environment. Qualifications Prepare reports including aging schedules and support financial analysis for management review. Assist with tax reporting requirements including preparation of required forms and documentation. Support audits by providing organized records and responding to documentation requests. Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and workflow accuracy. Demonstrate organization, reliability and a proactive approach to accounting and administrative tasks.
