Morrow-Meadows Corporation Accounting Specialist 231 Benton Ct City of Industry, CA 91789 Salary: 25.00 - 38.00 USD / HOUR Morrow Meadows is accepting applications for an Accounting Specialist to join our team at our City of Industry headquarters. This position plays a key role in supporting our accounting operations, with responsibilities spanning certified payroll, accounts payable, compliance support, and general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities Certified Payroll (CP) Administration Serve as the Certified Payroll Champion, overseeing all aspects of the CP process. Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports accurately and on schedule. Upload certified payroll information to various general contractor portals and ensure compliance with applicable requirements. Field Payroll Support Act as a backup for Field Payroll data entry and processing as needed.Ensure timely and accurate payroll submissions for field employees. Accounts Payable (AP) Processing Perform daily AP data entry for assigned vendors, ensuring accuracy and proper coding. Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities as needed, collaborating with team members based on invoice volume. Participate in maintaining the office Pantry and Kitchen area on a rotating basis with other AP team members. Compliance Assistance Provide support to the Compliance Department as needed, helping maintain up‑to‑date records and documentation. General Accounting and Administrative Support Maintain various accounting schedules, including: Fleet Schedule: Support the Fleet Manager with vehicle IDs, maintenance tracking, and related documentation. Fuel Schedule: Maintain fuel tracking and reconciliation schedules. Other miscellaneous accounting schedules as assigned. Provide front desk coverage as needed, including: Greeting visitors and answering incoming calls. Sorting, distributing, and processing incoming and outgoing mail. Requirements 3+ years of accounting, payroll, or related experience, preferably within the construction or electrical contracting industry. Working knowledge of Certified Payroll and prevailing wage requirements, including experience with platforms such as LCP Tracker and the California DIR system. Proficiency in Accounts Payable processes, including invoice entry, coding, and vendor management. Familiarity with multi-union payroll and fringe benefit reporting is highly preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll laws/regulations. High degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing workloads. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and professional attitude. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and capable of learning new accounting software systems quickly.
