Incoming Quality Control Lead - Day Swing Shift

Johnson Service Group is seeking Quality Control Leads for the Manufacturing area at one of our clients focused on the data center solutions industry, designing, manufacturing, and delivering custom Server, Storage, and Networking Solutions for a contract position that may go full time based on performance. We are looking to fill Day and Swing Shift positions for a contract position that may go full time based on performance. This position will train in Fremont, CA but will be relocated at a later date. Must be willing to commute. This position is “hands‑on” and results driven with proven communication skills and a strong work ethic to work in a challenging, fast‑paced, energetic environment. Day Shift: 6:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. $26 per hour Swing Shift: 3:45 p.m. – 12:15 a.m. $27.50 per hour Responsibilities Participating in shift start‑up meetings with your department team Communicating current priorities and targets, any ongoing issues, process updates, expectations, quality goals and any additional relevant information pertaining to your department Attending daily recap production/shipping meeting when Supervisor is not present Directing hourly employees and assigning and coordinating daily production activities Determining and may develop methods and procedures to improve productivity and quality Always utilizing efficient and effective flow process of WIP Preparing daily productivity reports. Evaluating issues and potential problems proactively in a timely manner Ensuring 5S housekeeping duties are assigned and completed daily Maintaining open communication with hourly reports regarding goals and accomplishments Monitoring department KPI’s for results and trends Developing contingencies and short‑term processes as needed Identifying bottlenecks that affect area goals or standards Developing hourly employees through training, coaching and mentoring Qualifications Advanced understanding and adherence to manufacturing documentation (MPI). Skills to train employees in department MPI (Manufacturing Process Instruction) documents Advanced computer skills with beginning to intermediate skill level (knowledge) in Excel Works on assignments that are primarily complex in nature. Considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. Must be able to effectively work within a team environment. May lead and provide guidance to lower‑level non‑exempt associates. Viewed as an expert in job assignments and related tasks. Promotes healthy working relationships Gives and receives constructive feedback Promotes quality work coupled with a sense of urgency Praises good work and communication skills and areas of improvement.
