Position Overview

The Medical Director for Interventional Pulmonology will act as the clinical and strategic leader responsible for the development, launch, and growth of our Interventional Pulmonology program.

As this is a new and expanding service line, we are looking for a physician leader with extensive experience in procedural pulmonology, program development, multidisciplinary care coordination, and operational leadership. This role is perfect for a physician who is motivated by the chance to establish clinical infrastructure, enhance procedural capabilities, standardize care pathways, and shape the future of advanced pulmonary and thoracic disease management across the health system.

The Medical Director will collaborate closely with executive leadership, thoracic surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, critical care, radiology, pathology, anesthesia, and nursing leadership to create a high-quality, integrated Interventional Pulmonology program focused on exceptional patient outcomes, innovation, and growth.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical institution.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship.
• Board Certification in Pulmonary Disease is required.
• Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
• A minimum of 5 years of post-training experience in Interventional Pulmonology.
• Proven expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures.
• Prior leadership experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Program Director, or service-line leader is strongly preferred.
• Experience in program development, operational growth, or procedural service expansion is highly desirable.
• A commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration, innovation, quality improvement, and patient-centered care.
