The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Administration, Human Resources Management Bureau has a full-time vacancy for a Human Resources Technician, SOC Title 13-1070 HUMAN RES WKRS-2). This position has a 37.5 hour work week and is considered non-exempt. Summary: Performs a variety of duties to support the Department of Safety in processing human resources information and transactions related to employees, positions, recruitment, benefits, and payroll. Makes preliminary recommendations for the development and modification of personnel programs, procedures, and initiatives.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience: Associate's degree and 6 months of experience OR equivalent combination of 2.5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in human resources, business administration, customer service, administrative support, or a related field.
License/Certification: None Other Requirements: Must pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check
Trainee Option: Candidates with an equivalent combination of 1.5+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in 'trainee status' for this position.

Responsibilities: Processes a variety of requests related to employment, recruitment, benefits, onboarding, offboarding, job postings and position management by providing assistance and/or guidance to requestors on required processes and/or pre-work and entering transactions into NHFIRST system for timely approval.
Answers inquiries from employees and managers to clarify human resources policies, procedures, and requirements utilizing appropriate resources including the Collective Bargaining Agreements, State Personnel Rules, and Federal and State laws.
Reviews documents such as employment applications, job descriptions, waivers, organizational charts and policies to assist with various human resource related actions to include making determinations, ensuring compliance and processing transactions.
Assists with onboarding new employees, orientation, training programs, performance management, auditing, file retention, and other personnel procedures ensuring accuracy and timeliness of processing. Runs various weekly reports and resolves discrepancies in the data. Assists Human Resources Administrators in the creation, maintenance, and delivery of reports and documents used in administrative decision-making.
Assists with writing and editing information for personnel-related manuals, annual reports, training documents, or other publications utilized to assist the organization in the accurate delivery of information to agency personnel.
Utilizes a variety of tracking systems to ensure up to date information is available to internal and external partners related to human resource activities such as job postings, leave management, work unit processing, onboarding and offboarding; compiles reports as required.
