About the Role


Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Quality Inspector for a precision manufacturing client in the local area. This role supports quality processes across the facility - auditing, inspecting, documenting, and driving corrective action to make sure every part meets customer specification. You'll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to keep defects out and traceability airtight.

What You'll Do

• Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with company quality assurance policies and customer specifications
• Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required and track corrective actions to closure
• Input and trend key inspection process metrics
• Conduct, document, and report inspection findings across incoming, in-process, and final inspection
• Read and interpret specifications, part prints, and GD&T callouts
• Ensure calibration and maintenance schedules are followed for all inspection equipment
• Perform material kit audits to verify accuracy and integrity of the kitting process
• Perform product identification and traceability activities as required
• Work with engineering and production to resolve inspection questions and ensure schematics match the final product
• Document findings in quality databases/systems and generate NCR reports
• Maintain vendor performance documentation and communication
• Process receiving and disposition of RMAs, including creating shop floor routers for repairs
• Follow all housekeeping, safety, and quality work rules; wear required PPE in cleanroom or production environments

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong GD&T knowledge - able to interpret part prints, datums, and tolerance callouts
• Understanding of the 10:1 measurement rule and how to select the right tool for the tolerance and feature being measured
• Hands-on proficiency with precision measurement and test equipment: calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, thread gauges, comparators, profilometers, protractors, height gauges, V-blocks, and indicators
• Familiarity with automatic gauging (machine vision, ultrasonic, etc.) a plus
• Experience with manual or programmable CMM to measure part features a plus
• Comfortable with basic statistics, geometry, and trigonometry as applied to measurement and tolerancing
• Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions from inspection results
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization
• Ability to sit and use hands/fingers for extended periods; occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs
