Senior Account Executive — VP Sales Path

Charlotte, NC preferred (we’re just north of the city) · Remote considered for the right person · Inside sales role — you’ll sell by phone, video, and email from a desk, not on the road

The opportunity

PayTomorrow is the consumer lending platform for the 62% of US consumers that Affirm and Klarna walk past. We're a profitable, differentiated business with a unique position in the market — proprietary near-prime lending wrapped around a multi-lender platform — and we're now putting the team in place to push PT Lending past $100M over the next three years.

This is the first hire into that next phase. We're looking for a senior seller who can produce from day one and grow into running the team within 12 months. You'll carry a bag, close deals, and model the behavior we want — then earn the leadership role by demonstrating it. The candidates who'll do well here are the ones who'd rather build a book than collect a sign-on bonus, and who back themselves to ride a real growth curve rather than wait for a guarantee.

You'll be supported by a fractional commercial strategist building the playbook, ICP, and operating rhythm around you, and you'll work directly with our COO on enterprise deals. You're walking into a plan with momentum behind it.

What you'll do in Year 1

• Hunt mid-market e-commerce merchants in our highest-converting verticals: auto & auto accessories, tires & rims, durable medical equipment, and sporting goods

• Run consultative sales cycles with founders and owner-operators — these are real conversations, not RFPs

• Hit ramped quota: $30K/month new fundings by Month 3, $40K by Month 4, $50K/month sustained from Month 5

• Help shape the sales playbook as we build it — your input will define how the next reps are hired, onboarded, and managed

• Demonstrate the qualities of a sales leader: pipeline discipline, deal coaching instinct, accountability, the ability to make a number visible

What you'll do in Year 2

• Move into a sales management role, hiring and managing 2–3 reps

• Own the team's quota and operating rhythm

• Continue carrying selected strategic accounts

Who we're looking for

• 7–12 years B2B sales experience with a real outbound hunter motion

• Track record of overachievement that you can show on paper, not just talk about in an interview

• Evidence of leadership instinct — mentoring, deal coaching, process building — even informally

• Consumer lending, BNPL, fintech, or payments background strongly preferred

• Comfort with modern sales tooling, including the AI-powered ICP and account scoring tools we're rolling out

• The maturity to operate without a manager hovering, and the appetite to bet on yourself

Who we're not looking for

• Enterprise sellers used to 12-month procurement cycles

• Order-takers

• Anyone currently at Affirm, Klarna, Afterpay, or similar — wrong motion, conflict of interest

• Career managers who haven't carried a bag in five years

Compensation

• $100K–$130K base depending on experience

• Uncapped commission with an evergreen structure you won't find anywhere else in BNPL: full rate for the first 18 months, half rate for the next 18, then a quarter point on every merchant you sign for the life of the merchant. Reps who've been here a few years still earn meaningfully on accounts they signed in 2022.

• Realistic Year 1 OTE: $185–210K. Year 2 (with manager comp): $240K+. Top of curve is $400K+ as your book compounds.

• 100% employer-paid employee health coverage (dependents available at cost)

• A real seat at the table as we build the sales org
