Sales Engineer
HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, keeps critical oil-and-gas assets running safely and efficiently. As Sales Engineer you turn complex industrial-cleaning and specialty-service needs into engineered solutions that protect people, the environment, and production uptime. Your technical credibility and commercial drive directly expand our downstream footprint and prove why operators choose HPC.
Performance Objectives- Close $4M+ in new annual contract value within 18 months by converting technical evaluations into signed specialty-service and maintenance agreements.
- Lead on-site process reviews and produce engineered proposals that cut customer downtime 15% or more versus incumbent methods.
- Win 70% of competitive technical bids by delivering clear ROI models, safety cases, and execution plans within 10 business days of site visit.
- Grow existing accounts 25% year-over-year through cross-selling of hydroblasting, chemical cleaning, and turnaround services.
- Reduce proposal-to-award cycle time to under 45 days by coordinating engineering, operations, and HSE resources from first contact.
- Capture and share at least four documented case studies per year that become company-wide sales tools.
You report to the Regional Sales Director and partner daily with field operations, the dedicated technology center, and HSE specialists. You have access to engineering support, a competitive bid-and-proposal budget, and Clean Harbors’ national resource network. Home base is Deer Park, TX with 40-50% travel to Gulf Coast and inland facilities.
Essential Qualifications- Proven ability to translate process-engineering data into commercially successful industrial-service proposals.
- Hands-on experience with downstream refining, petrochemical, or upstream production operations.
- Track record of exceeding $3M annual quota in technical B2B sales or applications engineering.
- Comfort presenting to plant managers, reliability engineers, and procurement teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field experience plus OSHA/HAZWOPER knowledge.
- Work for a fully invested technology center that designs proprietary cleaning and maintenance methods.
