Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN)

Location - Rochester, NY

Duration - 13 Weeks

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide care for patients with cardiac and stroke-related diagnoses in an acute care setting. Candidates must be proficient in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV insertion, and phlebotomy, as these are required competencies.

Phlebotomy
Peripheral IV Insertion and Management
Telemetry Monitoring
Dysrhythmia Interpretation
Dysrhythmia Management
Rapid Response Team Participation
Peripheral Line Care and Maintenance
Oxygen Therapy Management
Non-Invasive Airway Management
Isolation Precautions

Patient Population:

Cardiac Patients
Stroke Patients

Nursing Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive patient assessments
Administer medications and treatments
Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to rhythm changes
Initiate and maintain IV access
Perform blood draws and specimen collection
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
Provide patient and family education
Document care accurately in the electronic medical record

Support Staff Available:
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) assist with:

Vital Signs
Blood Glucose Monitoring
EKGs
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Equipment Experience:

Hoyer Lifts
Nasal Cannula Oxygen Delivery
Oxygen Face Masks
Portable Oxygen Tanks
Telemetry Monitoring Equipment

Preferred Experience:

Epic Electronic Medical Record System
