VP, Relationship Director and Investment Specialist

Avantis Investors, part of American Century Investments, is focused on helping clients achieve their investment goals through the delivery of broadly diversified, low-cost, efficient investment strategies. All our investment strategies are managed under a consistent investment philosophy based on financial science and use information in market prices and company financials to identify differences in expected returns among securities.

The VP, Relationship Director and Investment Specialist is a key representative for Avantis Investors. This role combines strategic relationship management with investment expertise to grow assets and deepen partnerships with fee-based RIAs.

This remote position will be based in either Cincinnati or Columbus, Ohio.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Serve as the "face" of Avantis Investors to the external marketplace of Ohio. Understand Avantis Investors' highly differentiated investment process and philosophy as well as American Century's distinctive story, including its mission-driven purpose, unique private ownership structure and broadly diversified investment capabilities
• Grow assets under management, most specifically with fee-based RIA's. Collaborate with internal partners to identify and pursue sales opportunities
• Contribute to the development and refinement of a strategic distribution strategy, cultivate relationships and build active pipeline with fee-based advisors nationally
• Influence the creation of a consultative, solutions-based sales approach and a consistent and systematic approach for how Avantis strategically identifies, prospects and engages potential partners
• Partner closely with product development, marketing, and investments to ensure competitive positioning across key client and product opportunities

What You Bring to the Team (Required)

• A minimum of 5 years' experience selling to sophisticated, fee-based RIA's, must have direct experience and relationships with RIA's
• Ability to have sophisticated conversations with clients pertaining to portfolio construction, asset allocation and risk management. Broad-based understanding of general portfolio behavior and capital markets
• Ability to represent Avantis Investors' differentiated investment philosophy and process in a highly consultative and compelling manner
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with ambiguity and hands-on responsibilities
• Embraces a collaborative, team-based sales culture with a proactive mindset, taking initiative, making principled decisions, and driving results through partnership and accountability
• Bachelor's degree; FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, or equivalent as required by state, or ability to attain licenses in a short-term frame
• Travel to client and industry events is required

Additional Assets (Preferred)

• Knowledge of ETF platforms, key decision makers, products and philosophies is highly desirable
• Graduate degree (MBA) and/or a related professional designation (CFA, CAIA) is preferred
