Sheet Metal Mechanic — Commercial HVAC Charlotte, Texas | Charlotte ISD Project
Great Basin Staffing is hiring an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic for a commercial HVAC project in Charlotte, Texas. We are looking for a dependable mechanic with hands-on experience installing commercial ductwork and HVAC sheet-metal systems.
Pay
- $25.00/hour – Standard project rate
- Up to $48.00/hour – When performing work covered by the applicable prevailing-wage/union scale
- Full-Time W-2 Position
- 1 Immediate Opening
Job Responsibilities
- Install commercial HVAC sheet-metal and duct systems according to project drawings and specifications.
- Lay out, assemble, and install rectangular and spiral ductwork .
- Install fittings, hangers, supports, curbs, grilles, registers, and diffusers.
- Measure, cut, bend, fasten, and seal sheet-metal components.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, duct layouts, and installation specifications .
- Inspect seams, joints, supports, and completed installations for proper fit, alignment, and quality.
- Safely operate lifts, hand tools, and power tools.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades on site.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial sheet-metal/HVAC installation experience required .
- Experience installing rectangular and spiral ductwork.
- Ability to read mechanical plans and duct layouts.
- Comfortable working from lifts and using standard sheet-metal tools and equipment.
- Dependable transportation and reliable attendance.
- Ability to meet all project safety and onboarding requirements.
What We're Looking For
We need a mechanic who can come onto the project and perform commercial duct installation with minimal supervision . This is not an entry-level HVAC helper position. Applicants should have practical field experience with commercial sheet-metal installation.
