Adjuncts - Mechanical

Position Overview Credit part‑time adjunct faculty teaching positions in Mechanical Technology. Adjunct instructors will teach various credit courses in the Mechanical Technology program. Classes include afternoon and evening schedules and require laboratory preparation time in addition to lecture time. Responsibilities Lead discussions and instruction on mechanical maintenance processes, including bearings, belts, chains, gears, servos, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, load rigging, hand and power tools, precision measurement practices, and mechanical fastening systems. Provide experiential instruction to students seeking certifications required by local industry, including certificate programs, specialized diplomas, associate’s degree candidates, and students continuing on to a four‑year program. Prepare laboratory materials and supervise hands‑on training sessions. Convey basic mechanical concepts following the prescribed curriculum. Qualifications Hands‑on experience with mechanical maintenance and/or design in the above topics. Experience or academic instruction at the associate’s degree level or above (desirable). Knowledge extending beyond theoretical concepts to real‑world application of core mechanical components and overall mechanical systems. Ability to convey concepts to students in an engaging manner.
