Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Must-Have: Ability to care for postpartum mothers and well babies Description: This unit averages 45 to 65 births per month and experiences increased activity during the summer. The team consists of 5 OB Physicians and 1 Certified Nurse Midwife. There are no circulating C-sections, as the Operating Room manages those procedures. The role requires the nurse to be proficient in caring for well babies and postpartum mothers. The hospital may cancel shifts up to 4 times during the 13-week contract period or 3 times for contracts of 12 weeks or less. Cancellations can be for an entire shift or any part of a shift. The charting system used in this unit is Paragon. Registered Nurses are not required to have a BSN.
