Application Engineer, Electric Motors - North America

Alva Industries is scaling its commercial operations in North America and is seeking an Application Engineer to play a key role alongside our Sales Manager in driving regional growth and customer success . Alva I based in Trondheim, Norway, so this is a 100% remote position and we are looking for you that is based in North America . As our new Application Engineer , you'll be in a key technical customer-facing role : helping our customers in North America navigate our advanced product portfolio and integrate our motors into their next-generation systems. You'll also play a strategic role in shaping our future products , acting as the bridge between market needs and product development. Responsibilities Support the sales team in technical discussions during customer meetings Help customers navigate our electric motor portfolio to find the optimal solution Perform performance calculations and sizing to ensure competitive, high-performing proposals Provide hands-on support during customer evaluation, testing, and system integration Maintain a deep understanding of Alva’s motor technology, capabilities, and differentiators Serve as a key link between customers and the engineering team to ensure successful outcomes Prepare technical quotes and proposals in collaboration with engineering and sales Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or similar Experience in application engineering or product management within motion systems (e.g. electric motors, encoders, gearboxes, or servo drives) Fluent in written and spoken English Preferred Qualifications & Experience Experience integrating and testing motion control systems Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Familiarity with PLM and CRM systems Basic programming skills (e.g. Python, C, or graphical environments like LabVIEW) Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events (up to 50%) Analytical and detail-oriented Strong planning and execution skills Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Customer-focused mindset: accurate, responsive, and committed to solving problems #J-18808-Ljbffr
