Requisition Summary Do you want to help shape the future of Peterbilt and PACCAR? We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with interest in developing the systems required to launch an Autonomous Enabled Truck including new designs for Outer Body and Interior Trim Elements, Mechanical Structures, and Electrical Power Distribution. Scope of work includes concept development, final design development, validation planning, testing support and launching product into production. Job Responsibilities Lead the development of Level 4 Autonomous Vehicle Platform (AVP) systems through the entire product development process from Project Definition to Product Launch. Develop mechanical system concepts to meet vehicle platform requirements and utilize analytical tools to verify a robust design. Utilize DFMEA and DVP tools to mitigate system design risk throughout the concept, design, and validation phases of the program. Create and maintain up-to-date project schedules and develop mitigation plans as needed to meet program milestones. Effectively manage relationships with the autonomous partner and suppliers to ensure information flows smoothly and issues are proactively addressed. Coordinate regularly during the development process with other PACCAR engineering teams including Embedded software engineering, PACCAR Innovation Center (PIC), and PACCAR Technical Center (PTC). Coordinate regularly during the development process with cross-functional groups including Product Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and PACCAR Parts. Act in a professional manner in all contacts with external and internal customers. Up to 15% travel may be required.
