Senior Accountant

Act as a business partner between operations and supply chain teams and the finance organization Apply aircraft-maintenance industry knowledge to drive relevant processes and GAAP accounting Support short- and long-term financial plans and strategic cost-saving initiatives Serve as an accounting thought leader for fleet management and maintenance programs Prepare account reconciliations Review staff work Perform monthly close activities, including accruals, variance analysis, and journal-entry preparation Complete ad hoc accounting projects Prepare financial statements and footnote disclosures Document policies and processes Help direct the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of accounting processes Interpret and recommend modifications to existing policies and practices Provide financial support for new business opportunities, including assumptions and financial models Represent accounting in fleet governance and vendor reviews/scorecards Support RFP creation when applicable Help direct accounting and operational due diligence for proposed DMC business cases Lead accounting and reporting for AMS direct maintenance costs Navigate multiple organizational systems for accounting and reporting Prepare technical accounting memos Support the company’s long-term financial plan Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Finance or Accounting Approximately seven (7) or more years’ related experience and/or training CPA required CPA license required Experience in aircraft maintenance required Experience in aviation industry required Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels Critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask efficiently, and ability to meet deadlines Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions consistent with essential job functions Ability to build partnerships with related departments or functions Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience with an accounting system Regular scheduled attendance Approximately 10% travel Must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in GAAP accounting and financial planning within the aircraft maintenance and aviation industry, with strong capabilities in financial analysis, account reconciliation, and strategic cost-saving initiatives.
