Position Summary The Payroll Associate will play a key role in supporting Emplova’s payroll operations, ensuring seamless and accurate payroll processing for our diverse client base. This position requires strong attention to detail, a client-service mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Associate will process multi-state payrolls, resolve discrepancies, and provide white-glove service to both clients and employees. Key Responsibilities Payroll Processing Accurately process payroll for multiple clients across various states on a timely basis using PrismHR. Assist with payroll adjustments, including but not limited to terminations, prorated pay, bonuses, retroactive payments, and off-cycle requests. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. Serve as a key point of contact for payroll-related questions and concerns. Research and resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and effectively, maintaining Emplova's high client satisfaction standards. Collaborate with the Client Success team to troubleshoot and answer client payroll inquiries. Data Integrity and Compliance Perform quality checks to ensure payroll accuracy, including tax calculations, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and union dues. Update payroll systems for changes to employee records (e.g., new hires, promotions, rate changes). Support payroll audits, tax filings, and reconciliations as needed. Process Improvement Assist in developing and documenting workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy. Help identify opportunities for improving payroll processes and implementing best practices. Collaboration and Growth Learn and understand Emplova’s standards for delivering boutique payroll services to anticipate client needs proactively. Support special projects and initiatives as needed. Qualifications Education : High School diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience : 1-3 years of payroll experience; PEO experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with PrismHR or similar HRIS/payroll systems is a plus. Experience with multi-state payroll and understanding of wage and hour laws. Skills : High proficiency in Excel and ability to analyze payroll data. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
