Assembler, 1st shift

Generator Enclosure Assembler

Assembles generator enclosures, and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the following duties:

• Reads and understands blueprints and bill of material.
• Assembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, power tools (cordless drills, impact gun, etc.) levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
• Uses forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, ladders and other lifting apparatus to aide in the assembly process.
• Assists in the assembly and installation of electrical and electronic components (electrical enclosures, transformers, etc. all electrical connections are done by qualified personnel), pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
• Assembles both small and large sub-assemblies according to prints or drawings.
• Reads bill of material to package parts/kits to customer requirements.
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine assembly sequence, and setup requirements
• Follows work instructions from general description. Works with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical/fit issues in a satisfactory manner.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
