Account Director

Strategic Account Manager As a Strategic Account Manager, you will manage and strengthen partnerships with North American clients. In this dynamic role, you act as the key liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, showcasing the value of ISS MI (Market Intelligence) solutions while collaborating across product groups to set strategic goals, uncover new revenue opportunities, and enhance client retention strategies. Responsibilities Drive the existing enterprise sales process from identification to proposal, negotiation, and close within assigned territory and book of business. Achieve sales (upselling and cross‑selling) and retention goals through prioritizing activity and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline. Cultivate and manage relationships with North America–based clients while continuously promoting usage of MI products to facilitate client retention. Plan and prioritize activity and sales pipeline to achieve goals with an emphasis on efficiency, productivity, and forecast accuracy. Partner with key contacts, prospects, and sales management to develop and deliver tailored business cases demonstrating the value or ROI of our solutions. Present solutions and service benefits through in‑person visits at prospect offices, at industry conferences, and via web‑based demonstrations when appropriate. Deepen and grow client relationships to identify and deliver cross‑product solutions. Liaise with client support teams to identify and monitor ways to better engage with clients and address any potential dissatisfaction. Qualifications Minimum of 4–8 years of experience in account management, enterprise sales, or client‑facing roles (preferably within the financial services industry). Knowledge of Mutual Funds, ETF, CIT, VA, etc. (Distribution Intelligence & Product Development). Knowledge of the Financial Services and Insurance sector with an understanding of FA marketing, distribution, recruiting, and M&A activities. Strong client engagement skills and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels within the client organization. Strong analytical, verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment. Experience with enterprise software, account management, and customer service. Ability to manage large six‑figure accounts and communicate effectively with executive‑level clients. Ability to provide analysis of complex client business process flows to present effective resolutions. Ability to diagnose, prioritize and drive opportunities for product integration. Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities quickly and efficiently. Preferred Skills Experience with Salesforce.com. Understanding LinkedIn.com and how to leverage it to build networks and pipelines. Familiarity with core Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and SharePoint. Experience with Gong.io. Expected base pay range for this role based in Boston, MA is $90,000 – $120,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and level of education.
