MATERIALS AND STORES SUPERVISOR II (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

Job Summary Materials & Stores Supervisor II (Correctional Facility) with a 12‑month limited term in Kern County. Salary $4,757.00‑$6,239.00 per month. Responsibilities Supervise receipt, storage, issuance, and shipping of varied supplies in a large redistribution or point‑of‑use warehouse. Manage a team of assistants, ensuring accurate performance and compliance with safety regulations. Maintain inventory control records and oversee the movement of equipment, stores, and supplies. Assist higher‑grade warehousing supervisors as needed. Minimum Qualifications One year of experience performing duties of a Materials and Stores Supervisor I (Correctional Facility) or equivalent in California state service. Or three years of experience in a storeroom or warehouse involving receipt and issuance of large volumes of commodities. Experience in California state service counts toward the above requirements. Desirable Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to an equitable and inclusive workplace. Knowledge of modern warehousing methods, freight procedures, procurement specifications, and affirmative action objectives. Ability to read/write English, perform heavy physical labor, estimate future supply needs, direct work of others, maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and operate forklifts and other motorized equipment. Education equivalent to completion of twelfth grade; college‑level coursework in accounting and/or business administration preferred. Physical Requirements Persons must possess sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform tasks in stressful situations without compromising their own or others’ health and well‑being.
