SUPERVISOR OF BUILDING TRADES (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

Supervisor of Building Trades (Correctional Facility) Location: California Men's Colony, San Luis Obispo County, CA Salary: $7,382.00 – $8,755.00 per month Work Shift: 07:30 – 15:30, Monday–Friday Position: Permanent, Full Time – 1 opening. Responsible for supervising the repair, maintenance and minor construction work of buildings and structures within the correctional facility. Directly under the Correctional Plant Manager II, the supervisor coordinates operations, maintains order, ensures security, inspects premises, searches incarcerated persons for contraband, and maintains safety standards. May be required to conduct physical and pulmonary examinations, participate in confined space and asbestos training, and be certified in Backflow Prevention Program. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and supervise repair, maintenance, and minor construction work of facility buildings and structures. Maintain order and supervise conduct of incarcerated persons; prevent escapes, injuries, and property damage. Ensure security of work areas and materials, inspect premises, and conduct searches for contraband. Participate in mandated physical, pulmonary, confined space, asbestos abatement, and backflow prevention programs. Minimum Requirements Two years of experience as a building trades supervisor, or Three years of experience as a lead journeyperson (II level) in a building trade, or Four years of experience as a journeyperson in a building trade, or Four years of experience as a journeyperson in a building trade with at least two years in a supervisory capacity; plus completion of eighth grade or equivalent.
