WATER AND SEWAGE PLANT SUPERVISOR (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

Job Title Water and Sewage Plant Supervisor, Position 8 (Correctional Facility) Location Sierra Conservation Center, Jamestown, Tuolumne County, California Employment Type & Salary Permanent, Full Time. Salary range: $6,696.00 – $8,477.00 per month (minimum salary for new to State candidates). Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Chief Engineer I, the Water & Sewage Plant Supervisor oversees operation, maintenance, and preventive maintenance of wastewater and water treatment facilities. Responsibilities include performing repairs, servicing equipment, conducting water quality tests, preparing reports, and adjusting operations to meet regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Operate and supervise the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Perform repairs, maintenance, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment (pumps, motors, piping, valves, irrigation systems, sludge drying beds, filters, chemical feed systems, etc.). Collect samples, conduct tests, and prepare monthly reports on water and effluent quality. Adjust processes and administer chemicals to maintain compliance with SWRCB, DDW, RWQCB, and other permits. Ensure plant operations adhere to National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System requirements. Train and supervise staff and offenders in plant operation, health & safety, and injury prevention. Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections. Minimum Requirements See Class Specification for full requirements. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of water and sewage treatment principles, mechanical systems, and related equipment. Experience with control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation. Proficiency in reading plans, drawings, and specifications. Strong communication and training skills.
