Job Title Research Faculty – Computational Psychiatry – Open Rank and Track Department Medicine | Psychiatry Overview The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health is hiring several faculty members (open rank) to expand our computational psychiatry research mission. Candidates should be clinically- or mechanistically-oriented researchers with a program focused on using statistical and computational approaches to address the following areas: Understanding root causes (mechanisms) of mental health conditions. Developing and evaluating tools for more accurate and rapid diagnosis. Applying statistical knowledge to enhance understanding of mental health diseases and care. Evaluating the effectiveness of mental health treatments using diverse clinical trial designs. Experience in quality improvement and evaluation projects is desirable. Faculty will join a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists across psychosis, suicide, trauma, depression, addiction, and anxiety. The role requires contributions to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits. Eligibility and Qualifications Strong record of external research funding or demonstrated capability to pursue such funding. Evidence of current federal funding and research experience indicating the ability to obtain consistent extramural funding. Expertise in computational psychiatry and related quantitative methods. Bachelor’s degree is required; a terminal degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent) is required for faculty positions. Faculty Types and Appointment Clinical Faculty (assistant/associate/professor – clinical): Graduate clinical degree, focus on clinical care, no tenure, appointed for 3–5 year terms, may be reappointed. Tenure‑Track Faculty (assistant/associate/professor): Graduate degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent), eligible for tenure, primary focus on research, service, and teaching; may also be involved in clinical care. Research Faculty (assistant/associate/professor – research): Graduate degree, focus solely on research, not eligible for tenure, appointed for 1–5 year terms.
