Day Shift: 4x12-Hour (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM)

Job Description

This position is for experienced professionals in a healthcare setting, specifically in labor and delivery and maternal care. Candidates will be required to float as needed within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a diverse range of patients including labor and delivery, postpartum, OB triage, antepartum, and normal newborn care.
• Perform special procedures including vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and circulating in the operating room.
• Administer IVs, blood, and blood products as necessary.
• Manage various medical equipment, including epidural pumps and PCA pumps.
• Handle multiple patient diagnoses and conditions related to labor and delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Valid compact state license required at the time of submission.
• Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP, ACLS are preferred.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Proficiency in using Epic or similar electronic medical record systems is beneficial.

Skills Required

• Administration of blood and blood products.
• Experience with anticoagulation therapy and antihypertensives.
• Assistance with high-risk deliveries.
• Start and maintain IV access.
• Perform sterile vaginal examinations.
• Triage obstetrical patients effectively.
• Calibrate intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) and manage insulin drips.

Patient Care Details

Patient Age Groups: Infants and Adults

Daily Census: Approximately 200-300 facility births per month.

Additional Information

Candidates may be expected to float between sister facilities as needed. Refusal to float may impact contract hours. All scheduling requests must be communicated upfront during the submission process.

Module Completion

Pre-start and annual modules are required, with an average completion time of 16 hours. Over 20 hours requires prior approval.

References

Two references are required covering one year of experience within the last three years, which may include charge RNs or leads.
