Role Description The Human Resource Generalist is a full-time, on-site role based in Elk Grove Village, IL. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations, including administering employee benefits, assisting with payroll-related data, and maintaining HR records and HRIS data with accuracy and confidentiality. The Human Resource Generalist will help implement and interpret HR policies, support employee onboarding and offboarding, and coordinate training and development activities. Daily tasks also include responding to employee inquiries, supporting performance management processes, and assisting with employee relations matters in alignment with company values and legal requirements. The role collaborates with managers and leadership to ensure HR practices are consistent, compliant, and supportive of a service-driven, safety-focused transportation environment.\n
Qualifications

• Foundational Human Resources (HR) knowledge, including experience supporting general HR functions and day-to-day employee support.
\n
• HR Management skills, such as coordinating HR processes, maintaining accurate HR documentation, and partnering with supervisors and leadership.
\n
• Ability to interpret and apply HR Policies, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and federal, state, and local employment regulations.
\n
• Experience with Employee Benefits and Benefits Administration, including enrollment, changes, and employee communication.
\n
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills to work effectively with team members at all levels.
\n
• Proficiency with HRIS and common office software (e.g., MS Office), and strong attention to detail in data entry and recordkeeping.
\n
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
\n
• Preferred: Prior HR experience in transportation, logistics, or a similar operational environment; associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
