Salary: $75,000.00 - $82,000.00 commensurate with experience

Location: Monterey, CA
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Must be available for weekends & holidays

About the Role

We’re looking for a natural leader who can bring together great service, strong organization, and hands-on teamwork. As the Assistant Valet Manager , you’ll help oversee day-to-day valet and parking operations at a luxury hotel property—ensuring smooth traffic flow, exceptional guest service, and a clean, safe, well-run facility.

This role blends hospitality, leadership, and operational management. You’ll support frontline staff, solve problems in real time, and help create a welcoming experience that reflects our approachable luxury philosophy.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Support the Team

  • Supervise and manage all frontline associates, including supervisors, cashiers, valets, attendants, and maintenance personnel
  • Provide ongoing customer service training for all employees
  • Assist with training new hires—cashiers, valets, and shuttle drivers
  • Make meaningful recommendations regarding hiring, performance reviews, discipline, and termination decisions
  • Fill in for frontline associates when necessary
  • Serve as acting Account Manager when needed (including weekends or second shift coverage)

Guest Service & Problem Solving

  • Handle customer complaints and day-to-day operational challenges
  • Act as a liaison between guests, staff, and management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vehicle damage claims; ensure each case is fully completed and documented

Operations & Safety

  • Patrol and monitor safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the parking garage and surrounding areas
  • Support shuttle fleet upkeep, preventative maintenance, and repair coordination
  • Ensure compliance with all company and client policies and procedures

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Process cash receipts and compile bank deposits for bookkeeper revenue reports
  • Safeguard deposits and ensure all revenue is accurate
  • Assist with reviewing work schedules to ensure proper staffing coverage
  • Support reconciliation of time cards and payroll submission
  • Assist office manager with administrative tasks
  • Prepare reports, surveys, or special projects as assigned

Como Subgerente de Valet , supervisará las operaciones diarias de valet y estacionamiento en un hotel de lujo, asegurando flujo de tráfico eficiente, servicio excepcional a los huéspedes y un entorno limpio, seguro y bien gestionado.

Este puesto combina hospitalidad, liderazgo y gestión operativa. Apoyará al personal de primera línea, resolverá problemas en tiempo real y ayudará a crear una experiencia acogedora que refleje nuestra filosofía de lujo accesible.

Responsabilidades principales:

Liderar y apoyar al equipo:

  • Supervisar y gestionar a todos los asociados de primera línea, incluidos supervisores, cajeros, valets, asistentes y personal de mantenimiento.

  • Proporcionar capacitación continua en servicio al cliente a todos los empleados.

  • Ayudar con la formación de nuevos empleados: cajeros, valets y conductores de shuttle.

  • Hacer recomendaciones significativas sobre contratación, evaluaciones de desempeño, disciplina y decisiones de terminación.

  • Cubrir funciones de asociados de primera línea cuando sea necesario.

  • Manejar quejas de clientes y desafíos operativos diarios.

  • Servir como enlace entre huéspedes, personal y gerencia.

  • Ser el contacto principal para reclamaciones por daños a vehículos; asegurar que cada caso esté completo y documentado.

Operaciones y seguridad:

  • Supervisar seguridad, limpieza y funcionalidad del estacionamiento y áreas circundantes.

  • Apoyar el mantenimiento de la flota de shuttles, mantenimiento preventivo y coordinación de reparaciones.

  • Asegurar el cumplimiento de todas las políticas y procedimientos de la empresa y del cliente.

Apoyo administrativo y financiero:

  • Procesar recibos de efectivo y compilar depósitos bancarios para los informes de ingresos.

  • Proteger los depósitos y garantizar que todos los ingresos sean precisos.

  • Revisar horarios de trabajo para asegurar cobertura adecuada.

  • Apoyar la conciliación de tarjetas de tiempo y envío de nómina.

  • Ayudar al gerente de oficina con tareas administrativas.

  • Preparar informes, encuestas o proyectos especiales según se asignen.

Requisitos indispensables:

  • Experiencia supervisando en estacionamiento, hospitalidad, transporte o servicio al cliente.

  • Excelentes habilidades de comunicación escrita y verbal.

Deseable:

  • Experiencia en operaciones de estacionamiento, gestión de flotas de shuttle o servicios de valet.

  • Experiencia en hospitalidad o servicio al cliente.
