Registered Nurse

Job Summary Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Oncology Clinic in St. Matthews. The role is full-time, first shift, located in the oncology clinic's office environment. The RN will educate patients on cancer treatments, coordinate care, and serve as a constant and reliable point of contact for patients, allowing for consistent and compassionate support. Strong knowledge of oncology nursing guidelines, chemotherapy drug management, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations are essential. Essential Duties Provide general patient care and education while collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective patient care. Function effectively in emergency situations. Summarize patient status in concise reports to other care providers as indicated. Individualize treatment care plans and obtain physician approval on the date of treatment; prioritize and implement physician orders. Provide patient care according to policy, procedure, and oncology nursing guidelines. Maintain knowledge of chemotherapy drugs and accept treatment plans; build and update chemotherapy care plans based on physician orders. Monitor adherence to treatment plans and communicate with specialty pharmacies or oral chemo clinic pharmacists for oral chemotherapy. Complete prescription refills within scope of certification and obtain pre-authorization of medications as required. Coordinate lab work and any required testing. Triage patient phone calls to ensure timely response and avoid delay of care. Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required Associate Degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited school. Active/unrestricted RN licensure in Kentucky or the state where practice occurs. Maintained active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
