Develop new and innovative pastry items to be used as specials or potential new menu items. Ensure that all dessert components are fully stocked and prepared for service. Follow all safety and health rules for sanitary food handling and kitchen cleanliness. Daily set up workstation and keep it neat and clean. Assist coworkers to ensure efficient operation of the line. Review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk during 6 to 8 hour shifts. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and wipe. Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves in storerooms and freezers. Ability to work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of heat and noise. Training and Experience Food preparation knowledge and line work experience. Ability to operate various cooking equipment. Ability to read and interpret recipes. At least a year’s training at a culinary institute or previous restaurant training and experience required.
