Program Highlights Designed for RNs with 1+ year of acute care nursing experience Multiple cohorts offered throughout the year Bridges the practice gap for experienced RNs transitioning into Labor & Delivery Comprehensive blend of interactive classroom learning, hands‑on skills training, simulation‑based education, and dedicated preceptorship with experienced L&D nurses Responsibilities Coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients Complete admission interview and document patient assessment Identify changes in patient condition and report promptly to physician or charge nurse Assess and document patient educational needs and provide instructions upon admission and throughout hospitalization Provide psychological and social support to patient and family Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning Accurately administer and legibly document medications Keep physician/Clinical Nurse Coordinator aware of significant changes related to patient and family Continuously evaluate the plan of care and determine need for modifications Provide individualized nursing interventions based on the plan of care and document patient responses to interventions Job Requirements 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) Education Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred Licenses and Certifications Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License with Texas license obtained within 90 days of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per St. David’s Healthcare policy Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required per St. David’s Healthcare policy Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David’s Healthcare policy Registered Nurse, Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB) – preferred Benefits Comprehensive benefits for medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, behavioral health, and telemedicine services Well‑being support, including free counseling and referral services Paid time off, paid family leave, long‑ and short‑term disability coverage, and leaves of absence 401(k) Plan with a 100% match on 3% to 9% of pay; Employee Stock Purchase Plan; flexible spending accounts; preferred banking partnerships; retirement readiness tools; rollover support; financial well‑being counseling Education support through tuition assistance, student loan assistance, certification support, dependent scholarships, and partnership with Galen College of Nursing Additional benefits for fertility and family building, adoption assistance, life insurance, supplemental health protection plans, auto and home insurance, legal counseling, identity theft protection, and consumer discounts Equal Opportunity Employer We are an equal opportunity employer.
