Job Summary: Join a compassionate healthcare team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in a clinical setting. This role involves assisting with various healthcare tasks tailored to the needs of the practice on any given day. Essential Responsibilities:
This position operates within a supportive healthcare environment located in the Midwest region of the United States, offering day shift hours with a flexible, as-needed schedule.
- Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal health indicators to identify at-risk patients. Deliver care aligned with established standards and guidelines.
- Respond promptly to telephone inquiries, triaging as necessary, while offering reassurance, clear instructions, and education to patients.
- Ensure smooth healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits by maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints. Monitor and communicate abnormal findings to physicians, documenting all observations thoroughly.
- Assist physicians with testing, treatments, minor surgeries, and physical exams, including applying splints and dressings under supervision.
- Manage medication samples and logs, coordinate patient testing and admissions, and facilitate referrals as needed.
- Distribute educational materials and ensure patients understand treatment plans and medication usage.
- Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs as prescribed.
- Maintain clinical areas by stocking supplies, ensuring cleanliness, sterilizing instruments, and verifying equipment functionality.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned, adapting to evolving responsibilities.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program.
