Human Resources Manager /Assistant Controller
Job Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations including, oversight of A/R & A/P processes and staff.
Responsible for all Human Resource functions including hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.
Essential Functions - Accounting
- Process wire ACH payments as needed.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including depreciation & IRS reporting.
- Prepare misc. journal entries as needed.
- Perform Month end closing process including reconciliation of accounts to the general ledger.
- Complete year-end general ledger closing procedures.
- Prepare miscellaneous financial and analysis reports.
- Assist with annual audit and reporting requirements as needed.
Essential Functions - Human Resources
- Process weekly payroll, including funding transfers, payroll reporting, and preparation of standard and accrual journal entries ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Assist with hiring and coordinate interviews.
- Conduct pre-employment screening.
- Assist new employees with onboarding and terminations.
- Collect required employment documentation and maintain employee personnel files.
- Coordinate new hire orientation and benefit enrollment.
- Administer employee benefit programs including Health, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment, FMLA, COBRA and maintain related documentation.
- Manage Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting, 401(k) compliance testing, census reporting, and other regulatory requirements as needed.
- Prepare and distribute monthly newsletters.
- Update and maintain the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain OSHA logs and workplace safety records.
Qualifications and Experience
- 7-10 years of working experience in Accounting and Human Resource role.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, ERP & accounting systems.
- Accuracy, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Education
- Degree or certification in Accounting and/or Human Resources is a plus.
