Learning & Development (L&D) Manager/Surgical Robotics-OTTAVA

Purpose The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager is a strategic leader responsible for defining and leading the Ottava Manufacturing L&D function—advancing workforce capability, ensuring training compliance, and driving standardization across manufacturing sites. Key Role Responsibilities Own the site’s L&D roadmap aligned with corporate objectives (competencies, compliance, continuous improvement). Lead learning experience innovation via digital content, e-learning, and emerging L&D tools. Partner cross-functionally (manufacturing, NPI, quality, EHS, HR, and external vendors) to deliver training programs supporting business goals. Drive standardization of training curricula, processes, and documentation across manufacturing sites. Lead key programs/projects (training labs, technician/associate upskilling, new training technologies). Oversee day-to-day L&D operations to ensure timely, quality, compliant delivery. Manage and mentor the L&D team; set direction, prioritization, and alignment to business strategy. Monitor, analyze, and report training metrics for continuous improvement and compliance. Identify and implement process enhancements and best practices. Ensure workforce readiness for launches and milestones; translate business needs into execution-ready learning solutions. Establish standardized processes, metrics, and governance for effectiveness and compliance. Qualifications / Requirements Required Skills Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, HR, or similar). 8+ years in L&D with strategy and execution in manufacturing or regulated environments. 2+ years direct people management. Ability to build/scale programs in changing environments. Ability to operate independently with minimal direction. Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, workforce capability development, training systems, and quality/compliance. Experience implementing advanced L&D tools (digital content creation, e-learning). Preferred Skills Master’s degree in HR, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or related field. Experience in MedTech/robotics/electronics/complex assembly. Certifications: Six Sigma, CPTD/ATD, PMP, or equivalent. Experience with digital learning tools and scalable content development (Articulate, Vyond, Camtasia). Other Up to 10% travel; role is fully onsite.
