Business Development Manager – Supply Chain Solutions

Location: Remote — must reside in Illinois

OOCL Logistics is seeking an experienced business development professional to drive growth across our Purchase Order Management (POM), supplier management, and end-to-end supply chain solutions portfolio.

This is a true hunter role focused on acquiring new customers and developing strategic relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, sourcing organizations, importers, and procurement leaders.

The ideal candidate already possesses a strong network within the global supply chain ecosystem and understands how purchase order management, supplier collaboration, transportation, customs brokerage, and inventory visibility work together to create value for customers.

Leveraging OOCL Logistics' global transportation network and technology solutions, you will help customers improve supplier performance, increase visibility, manage risk, and optimize the movement of goods across ocean, air, truck, rail, and customs channels.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of successful business development experience within logistics, supply chain, procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or technology-enabled supply chain solutions.
• Proven hunter mentality with a history of generating and closing new business opportunities.
• Established network of manufacturers, suppliers, sourcing partners, importers, procurement leaders, and supply chain decision-makers.
• Working knowledge of international transportation, including ocean freight, air freight, truckload, LTL, intermodal rail, and customs brokerage.
• Strong executive presentation, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
• Experience navigating complex sales cycles involving procurement, sourcing, logistics, finance, and executive stakeholders.
• Experience selling one or more of the following:
  • Purchase Order Management (POM)
  • Supplier Management Solutions

  • Freight Forwarding Services
  • Managed Transportation
  • Global Logistics Solutions
  • Procurement Technology

All employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. 

The annualized base salary for this position ranges from $118,000.00 to $123,000.00 excluding fringe benefits.  If hired at OOCL Logistics, the final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience.  In addition to those factors, we also consider internal equity as part of any final offer.  Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.  All full-time employees enjoy these outstanding benefits, while in a safe, friendly, clean, business casual office environment.
