The Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled transactional commercial real estate attorney with 5 to 25 years of experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate brings broad, substantive experience across multiple practice areas within commercial real estate and is prepared to handle complex, high-value transactions with a significant degree of autonomy. The candidate will have access to legal artificial intelligence tools integrated across the firm’s tech stack. Practice Areas and Responsibilities The ideal candidate would have significant experience handling transactions across one or more of the following practice areas: Commercial Leasing. Draft and negotiate leases for shopping centers, office properties, medical facilities, and industrial spaces on behalf of both landlords and tenants, including ground leases, anchor tenant leases, and build-to-suit arrangements. Joint Ventures. Structure, draft, and negotiate joint venture arrangements for real estate investments, including limited liability company operating agreements, limited partnership agreements, and shareholders’ agreements governing equity contributions, promote structures, governance, and exit rights. Acquisitions and Dispositions. Represent buyers and sellers in the purchase and sale of commercial real estate across all major asset classes, including shopping centers, office buildings, industrial facilities, medical office properties, and multifamily developments, with transactions spanning local New York deals and national portfolio acquisitions. Real Estate Finance. Handle borrower-side representation in connection with permanent, construction, bridge, mezzanine, CMBS, and other financings from a wide range of capital sources, including balance sheet lenders, life insurance companies, debt funds, regional and community banks, credit unions, and agency lenders. Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for attorneys who have developed their skills at large or mid-size law firms and are seeking a practice environment that rewards talent and initiative without the institutional overhead and demanding lifestyle of big law. The successful candidate will possess: Deep substantive knowledge of transactional commercial real estate across one or more of the practice areas described above. The ability to manage complex transactions from letter of intent through closing, with minimal supervision on senior-level matters. Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent judgment and the capacity to counsel clients directly on deal strategy, risk allocation, and structuring considerations. A collaborative disposition and a genuine interest in contributing to the growth and culture of a close-knit firm.
