Director of Construction (33454)

Aerial Precast Concrete, LLC is seeking an experienced, organized, and assertive Construction Coordinator to join our team.

This position requires someone who can effectively coordinate between project managers, field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, clients, general contractors, and the office . The ideal candidate is confident, professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment where priorities can change quickly.

We are looking for someone with a strong personality who is not afraid to follow up, hold people accountable, ask questions, and address issues directly , while still maintaining professional relationships with clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate multiple active construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Serve as a point of communication between clients, general contractors, project managers, field supervisors, vendors, subcontractors, and office personnel.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, proposals, scopes of work, and project documents
• Review CAD/shop drawings for accuracy and coordination with architectural and structural plans.
• Track shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, approvals, revisions, change orders, and other project documentation..
• Assist with project scheduling and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, deliveries, and field activities.
• Follow up consistently with employees, vendors, subcontractors, clients, and general contractors to ensure deadlines and project requirements are met.
• Monitor project progress and communicate delays, conflicts, missing information, or other issues before they affect the schedule.
• Maintain organized electronic project files, correspondence, drawings, contracts, proposals, and documentation.
• Review project emails and correspondence and ensure required action items are completed.
• Coordinate site meetings, inspections, deliveries, and other project requirements as necessary.
• Assist with change order documentation and ensure additional work is properly documented.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding schedules, project requirements, outstanding information, and project status.
• Work closely with field supervisors and crews to ensure they have the information, drawings, materials, and resources necessary to complete their work.
• Hold team members accountable for requested information, documentation, deadlines, and project responsibilities.
• Assist management and project managers with additional project coordination duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction coordination, project coordination, project management, or a similar construction-related position is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to read and understand construction drawings/plans
• Must understand construction contracts, proposals, scopes of work, specifications, and change orders
• Experience reviewing CAD drawings/shop drawings is required; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new programs and systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and PDF/document management software
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously..
• Must be assertive, persistent, and confident when following up or resolving issues.
• Must be able to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative without requiring constant direction.
• Experience in precast concrete, structural concrete, commercial construction, or structural trades is a major plus.

The Person We're Looking For

This is not a passive administrative position

We need someone who takes ownership of their projects, follows through, and is comfortable being the person who makes sure things actually get done.

You should be able to speak confidently with a general contractor or client, review a set of drawings, understand what our company agreed to provide, communicate those requirements to the field, and follow up until outstanding items are resolved.

You must be able to balance professionalism with firmness. Our projects involve many moving parts and personalities, so the successful candidate will be someone who can communicate clearly, stand their ground when necessary, solve problems, and keep projects moving forward.

Employment Type: Full Time

Years Experience: 3 - 5 years

Salary: $28 - $32 Hourly

Bonus/Commission: No
