About the Role:

Rubicon Refractories Inc. is looking for a hardworking and dependable General Laborer to join our team in Hammond, IN. Responsibilities:

Perform general labor tasks in support of daily precast refractory operations and production

Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials, equipment, and supplies

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards

Support skilled tradespeople and crew members with installation and maintenance tasks

Operate basic hand tools and power tools as directed

Follow all company safety protocols, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines

Complete tasks efficiently and accurately under the direction of a supervisor

Requirements:

Prior experience in general labor, construction, or industrial/manufacturing environments preferred but not required

Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive work ethic

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in a fast-paced environment

Basic knowledge of hand tools and safety equipment a plus

Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required

Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is a plus but not required
