General Production Worker

As a General Production Worker, you will play a crucial role in our production process. You will drill holes into wood mats according to specifications, insert wood plugs or bits, and ensure they are securely in place using a sledgehammer. You will also inspect finished products for quality and accuracy while handling lumber materials throughout the process. Operating hand and power tools safely and efficiently is essential, as is maintaining a clean and safe work environment while meeting production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Drill holes into wood mats as per production specifications.
• Insert and secure wood plugs or bits using a sledgehammer.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and accuracy standards.
• Handle and move lumber materials throughout the production process.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while meeting production deadlines.

Essential Skills

• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform general labor and production tasks.
• Familiarity with carpentry and construction processes.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive, labor-intensive work.
• Proficiency in operating a forklift and using a tape measure for inspections.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Previous construction experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

You will be working on the production floor, which is well-organized and clean, though it can get dusty due to wood shavings. The temperature varies, being warmer in the summer and colder in the winter. Dress accordingly to the seasonal conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.60 - $17.60/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
