Tallwood Men's Health is a dynamic practice comprised of a clinically integrated team of specialties including urology, cardiology, endocrinology, primary care, and medical and surgical weight loss, offering "Complete Care for Every Man."Job SummaryThis is a highly collaborative position, closely connected to the team of interdisciplinary providers, all of whom are aligned in the core mission of improving the health of men with a variety of medical conditions, including sexual dysfunction, cancer, obesity, sleep disorders, and heart disease. The providers at Tallwood Men's Health recognize the important role of behavioral health in the treatment of these conditions, and the psychologist is considered a core member of the clinical team. The psychologist will craft a strong program to support the behavioral health of this population, understanding the unique needs and challenges that men face in accessing behavioral health care, particularly as it relates to issues like sexual dysfunction, urological disorders, and depression.Job ResponsibilitiesProviding behavioral health services to adults, including diagnostic assessment and evaluation of treatment needs of medical patients, collaboration and consultation with medical providers, brief and evidence-based individual and group treatments for behavioral and mental health issuesIndependent maintenance of treatment records and timely documentationEffective utilization of screening measures and assessment toolsData management including tracking symptoms and treatment outcomesParticipating in research and program developmentDeveloping and implementing psychoeducational materials for use in the medical settingParticipating in team meetings, case management and coordination, community education and outreach, and communication with outside providersPresenting at Grand Rounds and other training and educational experiences to help educate providers and staff about psychological topicsOpportunities exist to supervise Health Psychology traineesQualificationsDoctorate of Philosophy in Psychology (PhD.) or Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited institutionOne year APA-approved internship in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Health PsychologyLicensed to practice Psychology in the State of ConnecticutTraining and experience in clinical health psychology, integrated primary care, or other medical settingsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-directed and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentWe take great care of careers.As a Hartford HealthCare entity, The Hartford Hospital Institute of Living provides eligible employees with an extensive benefits package and all the benefits of working in a thriving centrally located urban community:Medical and dental benefits401(k) plan with employer matchGenerous paid time off with accrual starting on the date of hireAdditional voluntary benefits as well as employee discount programsLocated on the Institute of Living's historic park-like grounds designed by Frederick Law OhlmstedWith locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
