Make an impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant elementary school setting near Denver. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the rewarding opportunity to work closely with a dedicated group of students in grades K-5 from August through the end of May. As a specialist in mathematics and case manager, you’ll foster growth and guide approximately 10 students on your caseload, while collaborating with and teaching all 20 students in the classroom. Supported by a team of 3-4 paraprofessionals, you’ll have the chance to lead and inspire your team as well as your students.
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; college degree strongly preferred
- Valid teaching credentials for special education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience with elementary students and diverse learning needs
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage paras and casework
- Ability to adapt instruction and build positive rapport with students and staff
Role Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement specialized math instruction for K-5 students
- Serve as a case manager, designing and tracking IEP goals for students with special needs
- Collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, support staff, and families
- Promote a positive, inclusive classroom culture
- Participate actively in district-led panel interviews and team meetings
- Complete district background check following offer acceptance
This contract offers full-time hours (37.5 per week, Monday through Friday) and the unique advantage of focusing your effort and expertise at one supportive elementary campus. The interview process will take place virtually via Google Meets, with multiple district staff participating in panel interviews between July 8-10.
