JOB SUMMARY:

The Field Service Technician will provide support installation and commissioning of custom automation equipment at customer sites as well as technical support for Sales, Manufacturing and the Service Departments. Perform a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain equipment, electrical systems, machine repair, hydraulics and pneumatics. Able to work with little to no supervision.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Mechanical and electrical assembly of automation equipment and controls
• Work with engineering to commission and test equipment
• Support FAT and customer product testing
• Provide installation support, commissioning and maintenance at customer site or remotely
• Complete SAT and service trip reports

ADDITIONAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical support for Sales, Manufacturing and Service departments
• Support installation and commissioning (Travel Required – 40%, including flights and international occasionally)
• Troubleshoot and program Allen Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s and Servo Controllers
• Understand industrial networks (Ethernet)
• Assist in the development and fabrication of new equipment
• Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and systems
• Complete job duties as required in order to ensure that product is of the highest quality and integrity

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• 7-years relevant work experience
• Vocational training in electrical, mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Proficient in Microsoft® Office® suite
• Familiar with PLC, VFD, HMI, and Servo controls, set-up and troubleshooting
• Ability to read wiring schematics
• Good problem solver with the ability to analyze data
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functional areas including customers and suppliers

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• Experience with assembly of custom automation equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
• Requires the use of PPE to include but not limited to; steel toe shoes and safety glasses in manufacturing areas
• Requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
