Staff Accountant

Target Freight Management (TFM) is a well-established logistics company, headquartered in Pittsburgh PA. Our team encompasses technology, experience, people and knowledge to provide effective and efficient customized freight solutions. Under the direction of the CFO, the Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company's reports and statements. The Staff Accountant will perform journal entries, organize and update financial reports and will support the accounting department in carrying out these responsibilities to meet financial deadlines.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reconciliations: Perform daily bank and intercompany reconciliations, along with weekly credit card reconciliations
• Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, update general ledger, account reconciliations, analysis and compilation of monthly reporting
• Budget/Forecast: Assist with the yearly budget process and quarterly forecast as needed
• Year End Review: Assist outside accounting firm with annual review and tax compliance including 1099 reporting
• Communicate regularly with individuals in other departments/locations to ensure all required submissions are completed.
• Ability to identify and implement modifications to processes to improve efficiency within the accounting department and the organization.
• Other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company CFO.

Skills and Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field, required. • 3-7 years of related experience required.

• Strong Excel skills including an understanding of complex formulas. Use of AI

• Detail and deadline oriented with strong organizational and documentation competencies. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. • Strong problem-solving skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
