Employee Benefits Account Manager

Foundation Risk Partners , one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding an Employee Benefits Account Manager to their team in Orange, CA.

Job Summary:

The Employee Benefits Account Manager is responsible for supporting the growth, retention, and servicing of employee benefits clients through proactive relationship management, exceptional customer service, and collaboration with producers, carrier partners, and internal teams. This client-facing role serves as a trusted resource to clients while supporting sales initiatives, renewal strategies, benefit program implementation, and ongoing account management activities.

Essential Functions:

• Retain and grow an assigned book of business by delivering exceptional service and supporting client satisfaction initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, carrier partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Serve as a primary client contact, responding to inquiries and providing day-to-day account support.
• Support sales and business development efforts through prospect meetings, proposal preparation, cross-selling opportunities, and onboarding activities.
• Coordinate and manage renewal activities, including gathering data, reviewing plan options, evaluating carrier proposals, and preparing client recommendations.
• Assist clients with benefit plan changes, employee communications, open enrollment support, and implementation activities.
• Educate clients regarding industry trends, legislative updates, compliance considerations, market conditions, and available insurance solutions.
• Develop and maintain service plans that align with client objectives and support long-term retention.
• Partner with carrier representatives and internal teams to address service concerns, claims issues, enrollment challenges, and escalated client matters.
• Prepare stewardship reports, presentations, renewal reviews, and client-facing materials.
• Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of account information within agency systems.
• Maintain compliance with agency procedures, carrier requirements, and applicable federal and California regulations.
• Participate in team meetings, training initiatives, and professional development opportunities.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Competencies & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of employee benefits account management experience.
• Active California Life, Accident & Health Insurance License in good standing.
• Professional designation such as CEBS, RHU, REBC, GBA, or other industry-related certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employee benefits products, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
• Strong understanding of employee benefits compliance requirements and group-size regulations including applicable state and federal laws.
• Experience supporting employee benefits sales, account management, renewals, and client service functions.
• Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information professionally to clients and prospects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Prior experience with Epic, Sales Force, Ease, Employee Navigator and Wood & Brown is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of employee benefits regulations and compliance requirements.

This range represents the estimated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to performance, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of FRP's total compensation package for employees.

Pay Transparency Range

$80,000—$110,000 USD
