Finance Coordinator - Financial Accounting

We're hiring a Financial Controller | Remote (US-Based) West Coast Required Are you a detail-driven accounting professional who thrives on variety, pace, and ownership? Halkin is looking for a Financial Controller to join our fractional CFO services team, sitting at the centre of our client delivery model. You'll manage a portfolio of 5 to 8 client companies simultaneously, overseeing financial operations, reporting accuracy, and the Senior Accountants on the ground, all while working directly alongside our Fractional CFO. This isn't a back-office role. It's high-touch, client-facing work that rewards people who can juggle competing priorities without sacrificing quality. Own the month-end close process across your entire client portfolio, reviewing reconciliations and ensuring completeness and accuracy before sign-off Deliver monthly financial packages including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow statements on time, every time Manage the day-to-day output and development of a team of Senior Accountants, identifying workflow bottlenecks and matching capacity to delivery demands Design and document standardised accounting workflows and internal controls for new client onboarding, continuously refining processes as the portfolio grows Serve as the primary day-to-day link between the Fractional CFO and the accounting team on the ground Manage direct client communications, maintain professional scope boundaries, and liaise with external tax preparers, auditors, and advisors as needed 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years managing multiple external client accounts concurrently ~ Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero, with hands-on experience in platforms like Brex or Ramp ~ CPA or CMA designation highly regarded ~ A flexible, fully remote setup Real investment in your continued development Please note we are not accepting recruiter outreach for this role.
