RNs are responsible for primary nursing and need to communicate with techs throughout the shift for help (techs float often). Vitals and phlebotomy are RNs responsibility. Charges have reduced assignments.Need to be comfortable with peds population. Acuity Level for Peds on MS: Low acuity, observation status. Most are post op tonsillectomy patients that come up from surgery mid-day and are discharged the following morning. We monitor for pain control and bleeding. During flu season we will see Flu/RSV kids who may need overnight observation and IV fluids or oxygen via nasal cannula.
